ConocoPhillips - Cloud Solutions Lead

In this role, I serve as the bridge between the enterprise Cloud Architecture/Cloud DevOps and the Lower 48 Business units. I am the AWS certified lead for the Lower 48 Federated Cloud Team (FCT). Primary responsibility is to help enable our business to utilize AWS products and services to transform and implement cloud solutions that will help the company solve challenges by utilizing the latest cloud technologies and services and use the most efficient technologies to accomplish their goals. I also routinely collaborate with the global FCT’s to define and set standards in our cloud uptake deployment strategies. Involved in various projects for various groups in Lower 48.

Upstream Inspections - Co-Founder

Co-founded the third-party independent inspection company which provides digital vehicle inspections for the automotive industry and wholesale remarketing space. Upstream Inspections provides a simple, quick, and efficient system for automotive resellers to order inspections remarket to various online auction platforms. I architected and built the solutions from ground up and the IT infrastructure that enabled the company to provide services and value to customers. I have worn many hats from a developer to IT Executive. My current responsibilities are to continue to direct all developers and IT staff to provide solutions for the business to continue to expand.

Essential top performing member of the Lower 48 Finance IT team responsible for the architecture, development, implementation, and maintenance of various applications and systems for various parts of the ConocoPhillips business units. ● Collaborate with various groups across the organization to find the most suitable technology platform for application development and implementation, whether in-house or vendor purchased and work to successfully implement.
● Maintain, manage, and administer entire TIBCO Spotfire environment for Lower 48 environments, ensuring system redundancy and security compliance.

Successful Projects:
● Cessation of Production Tool: Designed and developed a notification system for the Land team to help protect against losing leases/acreage due to non-production. (Special Recognition Award)
● L48 Software Spend Analysis: Designed and developed a web tool to track software spend and forecast future spend and built dashboard analysis to scrutinize historical Spend vs. Forecast.
● L48 Audit Management System: Designed and developed a workflow-based web application to help manage system audits, keep track of all communications, and assign responsibilities and accountabilities.
● Return to Warehouse System: Designed and developed a web tool to replace a manual paper-based return tracking workflow used by the field to keep track of various assets that are returned to the warehouse due to defects or oversupply.
● Spotfire Active Directory Extension: Extended the Spotfire application to allow users to connect directly to Active Directory and pull basic user information for use in Spotfire so consumers can manage metrics and visualize user info based on their needs.
● Asset Management Toolkit: Architected the entire system design for AMT which is used by multiple BU’s. Worked with Business Analysts to help set the system up the most efficient way possible by integrating the use of Citrix and Creating the right roles and groups for security along with setting up a three-tiered environment for Development, UAT, and Production.

NRG Energy - Systems Analyst II

Essential member of the Retail business (Reliant Energy) to implement and architect production support models and workflows for the VHOS, VHET, and AOS systems along with automation of routing support tasks for support team so they could meet SLA’s while the development team worked on long term fixes. Provided production support for customer facing personnel and risk analysts as well as structuring analysts so they could successfully modify and close deals for customers.


● Led automation efforts among various teams to automate some daily support tasks by migrating routine jobs to Control M.
● Provided around the clock production support for critical and high-risk issues. Achieved 98% system uptime.
● Assist in data extraction and reporting from various systems by writing complex SQL queries on an Oracle backend and understanding the table relationships.

Essential member of the Level 2 Global Operate team to support Trade booking applications in the Pyramid suite, which included in-house systems called Scala, PTP, Sphinx, and GBS (Global Booking System). Coordinate with the development team to identify gaps to implement permanent issue resolution so that traders could work in a reliable system and be more efficient.


● Managed small cross functional teams to coordinate and implement releases and system changes.
● Provided production support to ensure systems are up and available for users via ITRS Geneos monitoring tool and ensure that SLA’s are met for all other groups within the Investment Bank.
● Troubleshoot and resolve issues traders may face during intraday trading activities in a Unix/Linux/Solaris environment.
● Ensure Start of Day batches, End of Day batches, overnight batches, and feeds are successfully processed via Control M automation tool so that Risk information is available daily for the traders and the General Ledger is met at SLA times.

● Deployed and implemented software solutions and reporting systems.

Successful Projects:
● GHG: Eliminated the use of contractors to build GHG data capture and reporting module the Ops Environmental system by quickly understanding the inner workings of the system, resulting in cutting project cost by about 25%.
● Designed GHG QA/QC reports, board reports for upper management, and submittal reports for the EPA.
● Primavera P6 Upgrade: Upgraded Primavera Project Management to latest version, P6, from version 3 for the enterprise.
● Deployed E-Logger software for the entire west coast fleet so they could electronically log shift notes.
● Built PiWebParts SharePoint site that shares operational data for the entire company so that engineers can collaborate and identify key differences in operations.
● Built Application to allow trade floor users to query for historic PI data based on their inputs and report it out in an Excel spreadsheet.
